Instrument Potentiometers

Samarius Models M-300 and M-301 are newly designed potentiometers that provide a construction suitable to both DC and audio frequency applications.

These three- inch units are designed primarily low capacitance is required. This is obtained by the use of an all-phenolic body and precision molded diallylphthalate cover plates together with non-metallic card winding.

Special types are available in the M-300 Series to meet customer requirements - multi-gang, additional taps, special resistance and linearity tolerances, shaft lengths and shaft extensions, etc.

POWER RATING:
M-300, 6 watts. M-301, 11 watts
ROTATION:
Effective electrical rotation 320±2° Total mechanical rotation, 330±5°
RESISTANCE:
 Linear or no-linear on flat, fungus-resistant, card. resistance tolerance ±5% standard, ±1% on order. 100 ohms to 0.5 megohms, linear.
INDEPENDENT LINEARITY:
 ±5% standard. ±0.1% on order
TORQUE:
 Average 2-4 in. oz.
WIRE:
 Various alloys are used depending on particular application. Generally, wire with temperature coefficient of 0.00002 is specified.
SHAFT:
M-300 uses 1/4" stainless steel; M-301 is 3/8" reinforced Bakelite.
CASE:
 Fungus-resistant Bakelite shell. End covers are molded diallylphthalate.
TAPS:
Available to within ±6% standard.
CONTACT MATERIALS: Precious metal multi-finger brush and collector contacts. Hard gold plated slip ring and terminals.
